This Holiday Season

marks the Eleventh Anniversary of the SIGA Enchanted Forest. This spectacular event has established itself as the one of the longest – running Christmas light shows in Canada, and Saskatoon’s and Saskatchewan’s top wintertime tourist attraction annually generating 60,000 visits. The SIGA Enchanted Forest was created through a unique partnership between the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation and the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation. The concept was to create a fundraising event featuring animated Christmas light displays scattered along a 2.5 km. drive-through display route at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park. The towering evergreens and forest trees provide a breathtaking background for the displays especially when they are decorated with tens of thousands of LED Christmas lights. Last year, the Forest generated in excess of $100,000 shared by the two foundations.

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA)

has taken the title sponsor position every year since the event started, contributing $100,000 annually towards the operating expenses involved in display maintenance, set-up, and take-down. SIGA’s investment also helped cover the cost of building the original displays and the underground wiring required to carry electrical power to the light displays and the more than one million lights. The SIGA Enchanted Forest would simply not be possible if not for the generous contribution and community-minded spirit of the Saskatchewan Indian gaming Authority. The two foundations are extremely grateful for SIGA’s continuing support.
